First ever Back To School Fashion Show

I read about a cute idea somewhere to have a Back To School Fashion Show where the kids model their new school clothes.  I've been wanting to do it.  Well, I wasn't going to let another year pass!  I made Cory hang up a curtain and the kids popped through to model their newest fashions!  First the girls, then the boys!

It was a hit with the kids!

Pink Lemonade Party!

Isn't it every kids dream to have a lemonade stand!?  Well, I know it's Maggie's dream!  And we've drunk our fair share of pink lemonade this summer, so I thought, "Hey!  How about a pink lemonade party!?"

Maggie has been wanting a pinata at her birthday party for months!!

I talked Cory into making this lemonade stand for the party...

Cory's set decorator taught me how to make these cute Martha Stewart pinwheels for backyard decor...

 The goodie bags...

As girls were arriving, they could either get their nails painted pink or yellow or pink and yellow...

and they made pink lemonade gumball necklaces...

Maggie modeling her necklace...

 Pink Lemonade cupcakes...

We played a relay race where the teams had to race to fill the other bucket up with "pink lemonade" using sponges...

I discovered that kids really love relay races...

After everyone earned enough "money", they spent it at the lemonade stand...

Which Maggie herself ran (and wouldn't even let me help)

But I think that was the hit of the party... letting the kids spend their money at the lemonade stand full of pink lemonade (of course) and all sorts of lemonade treats...

Then there was the pinata!  Maggie helped Zoey take her turn...

I think Grant was the one who knocked it open?

Everyone had a great time... but I'm party-pooped out!

Maggie turns 7!

Maggie turned 7 this year and she had a pretty fun day on her birthday even though we were planning a big birthday party for her on Saturday.  First, she got to have a playdate with Emily, then she got a pedicure with mom.  Next, we went shopping for a few new outfits for school.  Dinner at our favorite family restaurant, Woodranch and a Nothing Bundt Cake for dessert!  What a lucky girl!

It's official: she's 7!

Maggie asked for a rolling backpack for school this year...

She picked out the Red Velvet cake... good choice!!

Happy Birthday, Maggie!

Summer Reading Program

One of the fun things we have done regularly this summer is attending the library for their weekly program.  We've seen magic shows and puppet shows, but probably our favorite by far was the Mad Science guy.

He introduced the kids to a cool, new thing... dry ice!

 Can you spot Grant?
