Dodger's game

We headed to Dodger Stadium for Mormon night.  President Uchtdorf threw out the first pitch, but we missed it cause we got caught in traffic... figures!

This was the first time our kids have been to a Dodger game.  We celebrated with Dodger dogs and peanuts.

The kids had a good time!

Cory's been a Dodger fan since he was as little as Grant.

After the game, they opened up the field for people to come down to to watch the firework show.

It was pretty awesome to be on a professional baseball field!

Heidi's babies shower

My good friend Heidi delivered twin baby girls in May at 26 weeks old!  They were sooo tiny!  She has 3 little boys already, so we were happy to celebrate her girls and cross our fingers that they grow into strong, healthy babies in the NICU.

Our yummy lunch: sandwiches from Corner Bakery, kettle chips, salad and fruit.  I made the pendant banner so she could take them home and hang it in their nursery when they come home.

Rachael made the yummy desserts: a ribbon cake, cupcakes, sugar cookies and eclairs.

I wish I had some pictures of the babies, but this is the only one I got on camera.

One fun thing we did (thanks to Pinterest) was a headband making bar.  Everyone at the shower could sit down and make a headband for the girls.  It was a hit!  Fun for everyone and Heidi came away with about 30+ headbands.

I made this headband storage container for Heidi (thanks again to Pinterest). It's made out of an Quaker Oatmeal box!  My sister made one last year and I've been wanting to make one ever since... too bad it wasn't for me!!

Heidi opening all her presents to discover all the cute outfits her girls will fit into someday!

I'm bummed I didn't get a picture of Heidi and I together.  But here she is... mother of 5!  So happy she finally got her girls cause she's the girliest girl I know!

Maggie the Ballerina

Maggie finished her year of ballet.  Not sure if ballet is her thing... which is a shame cause she sure does have the figure for it.  Towards the end of the year, it was really hard for Maggie to put on a smile for ballet class.  But then came the recital and she was pretty mesmerized by the whole production and seeing the acts of the older ballerinas.
A smile for the recital rehearsal.

 Love her recital costume!

Her church friends were also in her class... Emily, Isabel, Eve and Claire.

Maggie and Emily waiting for the rehearsal to begin.

Maggie and Eve waiting for the recital to begin!

Their part was so short, but the whole show was fun to watch!

Flowers for a job well done!  She had lots of supporters... Grandma and Grandpa, mom and dad, aunties Julianna and Maryanne.  We were so proud of you, Maggie!

2011-2012 school year

The school year comes to an end!  Maggie and Grant really lucked out with outstanding teachers this year!
I secretly admired this teacher from a distance because of her friendly demeanor at morning drop off.  I was thrilled when Maggie got her for 2nd grade!  Mrs Fersht is the best!  This year, I volunteered to run the art program again in Maggie's class, so fun!

I have to admit, it took me a while to warm up to Grant's teacher.  She's all about peace, love and harmony.  Grant didn't care much for starting the day off chanting the "peace talk" and singing "What a Wonderful World".  But Mrs Simmons is one of my favorite people on this earth!  I'll be keeping in touch with her for years to come!

Our friend from church, Christine, was one of Mrs Simmons aides... it was fun to work with her on the days I volunteered in Grant's class.

Now on to summer!

Maggie the Vollyball player

Maggie tried a new sport this Spring... Volleyball!  A friend of ours recommended a league in our city that does youth volleyball so Maggie tried it out and did great!  I hope she wants to play again next Spring.

 Wow!  Great form Maggie!

The 3 other boys on Maggie's team were also in her 2nd grade class!  What a coincidence!

Trophy's on the last day from their coach. (Yellow one!)
